We Help Autistic, ADHD & AuDHD Kids & Teens Live Better, Connect More & Feel Empowered
We use evidenced-based practices such as Child-Centered Play Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and EMDR to help identify and manage feelings, develop coping skills, foster social connection, explore special interests and build confidence—all while affirming one’s identity.
ADHD
Affects nearly 18% of people under the age of 18 worldwide, and the number is rising. ADHD’s formal criteria focuses on symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity, but anyone who knows someone with ADHD knows struggling to regulate emotions is also a core symptom.
If your child or teen has ADHD, you have undoubtedly witnessed your child experience some of these things: distractibility, difficulty listening and/or following directions, invasion of personal space, excessive talking, hyperactivity, aversion to boredom, difficulty waiting, impulsive behavior and procrastination.
But did you know that these struggles are also hallmarks of ADHD?
Poor frustration tolerance
Meltdowns over seemingly small things
Difficulty letting things go
Insisting that things be “fair”
Deliberately annoying people or wrecking their play
Difficulty letting things go
Insisting that things be “fair”
Understanding these lesser-known symptoms can truly be a game changer. Appreciating how ADHD affects your individual child’s experience of the world can be the key to calming some of the chaos and improving lives of children with ADHD.

Autism
Everyone deserves to feel understood and supported. Autism isn’t something that needs to be “fixed.” It’s a unique way of experiencing the world. Unfortunately, it can also come with specific support needs at different times during the life span. We work collaboratively with clients to address areas such as anxiety, burn out, deprssion, emotional regulation, self-esteem, self-advocacy, sensory difficulties, social connectednes. We provide a safe space to navigate challenges, celebrate strengths, and build skills for daily life and relationships.
Respectful, compassionate services can be life-changing when presented in a way that is affirming. At The Neurodiversity Circle. this is promoted through authentic relationships that create safety through connection while helping Autistic kids and teens thrive in a world designed for neurotypical people. We understand what can result from this mismatch of person and environment because we are neurodivergent, and our lived experiences can be a valuable resource in helping your child or teen feel safe, strong and comfortable as themself.
